Ajith the "King of Box Office Openings" has proved that he is the "Twinkling Star of Indian Film Industry". From the step stairs of his acting career after Asai, Kadhal Kottai, Kadhal Mannan, Vaali, Amarkalam, Citizen, Dheena, Villan, Varlaru, Kireedom, Billa and Mankatha sounds ahead before his acting performance.In his Villan starring Ajith has a feature of "International Box Office Opening Star".

Venkat Prabhu has been a worthy director of making commercial movie.He has done a good job.

Arjun has excelled in CBI role and proves that he is truly the Action King.

In Yuvan Shankar Raja's music, three Songs are tuning well, especially the background score adds to the thrill of the movie and fast track with International standards.

Trisha has very limited scope in this movie and has not given much importance as like heroines are not given importance in Tamil Commercial movies.

Lakshmi Rai has played a better Villi role in this movie. And she looks very gorgeous and tied the audience in seats and also made their hearts to feel very lightly by exposing her glamour well in the movie.

Jayaprakash has lived as arumuga chettiyar.

Special Catch : The songs are captured attractive and the scenes are eye-catching with Sakthi Saravanan's cinematography. Editing work is done marvellous by Praveen and Srikanth.

Story Screw : The film is about 4 young criminals – Vaibhav Reddy, Ganesh, Mahat and Premji Amaran looking out to swindle the big sum of Rs.500Crores for IPL betting. These bookies are into a big plan of looting the currencies, but they become directionless with the entry of Vinayak (Ajith), a police officer suspended for 6 months in service. Four become Five and they all go ahead with new plans, but everything doesn't go as planned as the characters start playing 'Mankatha' among them. Meanwhile, there is a special CBI officer Prithviraj (Arjun) appointed for trapping the bookies and soon are on the hunt of these off the field players trying to loot the money. Finally, all are trapped and killed except Vinayak and the greatest mystery reveals at the climax that its a Master Stroke Plan by both Vinayak and Prithviraj. And then the Suspense of Game Ends with a thrilled applause.

Critic : Venkat Prabhu proved that he is a good commercial director. But, we can't agree the sentence what he said: 'A hollywood standard movie in local budget' on the day of audio release. First half is very slow with lots of unnecessary scenes especially imaginative work scene before interval and screens as an ordinary Tamil commercial movie. The film lacks in the basic commercial formula of logical connectivity and the director wouldn't paid the pathway of high standard logical connectivity magic. But, second half is simply rocking though the movie has many flaws. These 3 songs ( 'Nee Naan....', 'Vaada Bin Laada....', and 'Nanbane....' ) made the movie to be very slow and unnecessarily spoiled the pathway of the movie. And the film slipped to attain the International standards. The entry of Ajith and his bike stunt are seems to be very mass and outstanding. In dance flow, Ajith have failed again anyway he tried to satisfy better atleast in 'In open the bottle machi' song.

Overall Report : The movie Mankatha is a good commercial movie,first half is very slow and boring but the second half withstand the movie to be very speedy with unexpected thrilling happennings. Ajith gives the new way of meaning to the Villan role and framed as a best negative role as a 'The Godfather of Villan'. Dialogue delivering by both Ajith and Arjun are awesome. Comedy is spinned well to the extent it needed for the movie. The Highlight of the movie is 'Effective High Standard Climax Suspense Twist' have made the fans and audiences to be tired of whistling and clapping to the core. Mankatha is the special treat to the fans by 'Ulimate Star - Thala'. Overall, its a good successful tamil standard entertaining movie hits the box-office. And being as an audience worth watching in theatre at once and twice or more as a fan.
